I've been kind of intrigued by this game ever since it was announced. It's not often that Nintendo revives one of its long-dead franchises, and reviews so far make it look promising. Anyone planning on picking it up?
Well, if I get a 3DS, I'll definitely try it, but I've heard that it can be awkward to play because of the controls. It does look nice, though.
I'm kinda sorta interested in it. The main hurdle for me is that it is Kid Icarus. It started off as a new IP and then switched. Like Star Fox Adventures and Kirby Epic Yarn. I'd be more intrigued if they left it as a new IP I think. Or something
From what I've read the game is fantastic, one of the best games for the 3DS in fact. But a common complaint are the controls which are apparently similar to the controls of Metroid Prime Hunters. And while I liked Metroid Prime Hunters, the controls were awkward and I don't think I want to experience those controls again.
Hunters worked really well with the 3DS slider when I played it. I've read people who held on to their DS thumbstraps (like us) find that it works well wit Uprising
I never actually got the hang of using the thumbstrap. Mine's still around here somewhere but I never used it more than a couple times. Regardless, the controls probably aren't that bad once you get used to it...I can see it being uncomfortable at first. Hell, even TWEWY was awkward at first until you got the hang of controlling it.
I never used the thumbstrap at all. :P I didn't think it was as comfortable as just using the stylus. Anyway, I just realized I have three to four AR cards for the game. Now I really wanna get it so I can put them to use.
I have it, but I think all together I've played a whole 10 minutes. It's a good game, don't get me wrong at all! But the controls are so different from anything I've ever played on the DS, or 3DS for that matter, that I can't get into it. But that's probably because I sit in front of the TV where whatever game I'm playing at the time only has half of my attention.
A lot of people say the controls are just fine once you get used to them, others never get used to them. I still wouldn't mind trying it, because the gameplay itself looks really good.
Finally got around to grabbing it - getting it with the… US 3DS… I'm getting off Jedi_Amara (because she's dying for a Midnight Purple one, so I imported it for her). A US 3DS needs a game to play, after all! I have no idea what I'm getting into, either.
